Bay
Area Search and Rescue Council
The Bay Area Search And Rescue Council (BASARC) was formed in 1990 to provide
a platform for the exchange of ideas and information, establish working groups
to develop common training, communications and management skills, and to promote
professionalism in the Search and Rescue community. Made up of the more than
1000 volunteer members, BASARC represents 20 separate Search and Rescue Organizations
in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Explorer Search and Rescue
California Explorer Search and Rescue (Cal-ESAR) is an active volunteer search
and rescue team based in the San Francisco Bay Area that responds to searches
and other emergencies throughout the State of California. We operate as a non-profit,
youth organization open to young, motivated people ages 15 and up (14 and in
High School) and adults.

Rescue Dog Association (CARDA)
The purpose of the California Rescue Dog Association(CARDA) is to furnish highly
trained volunteer search dog teams for search and rescue; to train and promote
working dogs for search missions; to support and organize tests for search
dogs; and to further the public knowledge, interest and use of search and rescue
trained dogs.

Development
The primary objective and basic philosophy of K9 Development is to help owners
maintain a balanced relationship with their dog. K9 Devleopment establishes
open communication based on a sound working understanding between you and your
dog.
National
Association for Search and Rescue
The National Association for Search and Rescue, Inc., (NASAR)
is a not-for-profit membership association dedicated to advancing
professional, literary, and scientific knowledge in fields
related to search and rescue. NASAR is comprised of thousands
of paid and non-paid professionals interested in all aspects of search and
rescue - the humanitarian cause of saving lives - throughout the United States
and around the world. "...that others may live."

Urban Search and Rescue Response System
The National Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Response System,
established under the authority of the Federal Emergency Management
Agency (FEMA) in 1989 is a framework for structuring local
emergency services personnel into integrated disaster response
task forces.
These task forces, complete with necessary
tools and equipment, and required skills and techniques, can be deployed
by FEMA for the rescue of victims of structural collapse.
